Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

Rates £110-£115 per hour PAYE

Hours: 40 hours per week, part time considered.
Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry required for a community, old age psychiatrists.
On a day-to-day basis the Consultant Psychiatrist will be in a close working relationship with the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.
They will have a close working relationship on clinical matters with the multi-disciplinary team and provide important liaison with the Duty & Triage Team, and other doctors in Primary and Secondary Care including the Home Treatment Team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Providing direct psychiatric services through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, care planning and treatment formulation, as well as guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
Treatment planning and regular reviews in the community that comprehensively address the bio-psychosocial needs of patients.
Providing psychiatric leadership to the multidisciplinary team and clinical leadership in collaboration with the team leader.
Serving as psychiatric liaison with other agencies particularly with regard to continuity of patient care. This is particularly important in complex cases when liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies is necessary.
Assuring the involvement of families and carers wherever possible with the patients consent in treatment planning.
Early Intervention in Dementia Service/ Memory Service Clinics
Full time preferably (but part time would be considered)
MRCPsych (essential)
Experience of working in Memory Clinics (essential).
CCT in Old Age Psychiatry (preferable)
